Project: Seasonal Heat Pool from a well-known resort hotel

Units: 1. One 265kW, two 165kW and two 50kW of air source heat pump chiller as an integrated unit.

Site conditions: The two 1,000m3-sized constant-temperature swimming pools in the hotel need to maintain a constant and comfortable temperature throughout the year. The units must be environmentally friendly, clean, and highly energy-efficient. Therefore, the "air-cooled heat pump" series of chillers from Nuoxiong were used, equipped with R134a refrigerant to maintain a constant temperature of 30°C to 35°C throughout the year, and to control energy consumption and pollutant emissions. It has been operating safely for over three years now.


A chemcial harmacetical facility in Nansha, Guangzhou have three coil tube type reactor needs the chiller system to cool down the temperature of the reactor when the hair removal cream is been produced. They require 500kW of cooling capacity and high efficient of energy consumption. So they find us, Nuoxiong Machinery Equipment Co. An OEM and ODM of the chiller system and own two factory which is in Dongguan, Guangdong and Nantong, Jiangsu.

After discuss with the technician about this case, they decide to use an air-cooled screw type water chiller and an air-cooled scroll type water chiller, which cooling capacity is 330kW and 170kW. The reason why we choose to use a 10 Ton of the capacity volume water tank is our two chiller all use the shell tube type evaporator, which have higher heat exchange capacity than normal plate heat exchanger. By the way, the shell tube type evaporator can be custom installation in scroll type air-cooled chiller and water-cooled chiller, and it’s standard layout of screw type chiller.

The screw type chiller is parallel throughout the entire cold water piping system and it’s outlet water port is connect to the water tank, while the scroll type chiller is connected in series in the system. What the chilled water system operation process is use the 330kW screw type chiller to precool the cold water to 5℃ in the water tank, the time consumption is approximately two hours. After that, the chilled water system start operating and cool down the three reactor. The cooling water out from reactor will be approximately 30℃, then water flow through pipe system to the 170kW scroll chiller for first stage cooling down, we assumed that it would lower the water temperature from 30 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius.


The stage two is about the water tank and 370kW chiller, when 20℃ cooling water flow to water tank, it’s temperature will be mixed to approximate 12.5℃, then the large cooling capacity chiller start the cooling operation and finally let the temperature of the water in the water tank decrease to 4℃ to 5℃ by internal recycle cooling operation with connected to the water tank.

The full chilled water pipe network system can running smoothly, the key is the water flow, two chiller’s outlet chilled water flow must greater than the consumption water volume of those three reactor, then the temperature of the return water and supply water can be steadily maintained in the designed temperature.
